David Eller, son of John Eller and Catherine Eldreth, was born in December 1842 according to the 1900 census, in Ashe Co. North Carolina. He is shown with his parents in the 1850 Ashe Co. census as age 5, and the 1860 Ashe Co. census as age 15. He was not found in the 1870 census. Apparently, he left home, and married Marildia by 1867. They were living in Tennessee by 1867-1868, as there is a son John Eller, age 12, born in Tennessee. David and Marilda moved back to North Carolina by 1872-1873, as their son William, age 7, was born in North Carolina. The 1880 US Census of Staggs Creek, Ashe Co. North Carolina is shown below.

Although he is listed as David Eller Jr. in the 1880 census and there is a David Eller Senior also listed in Staggs Creek in that census, he is not David Jr.'s father, based upon the listings for senior in the earlier censuses (i.e. David never lived with him and David senior' s first child is 16 years younger than David Jr.). Although the ages for David in the 1850 and 1860 census do not match exactly with those in later censuses, the David Jr. who married Marilda is likely the David who was living as the son of John in earlier censuses, based upon the available Ellers in Staggs Creek. The designations of senior and junior were probably just to distinguish them in this small community.

He is found in the 1880 US Census with a wife Amanda and 6 children as shown below. Ashe County North Carolina death records show that he died 10 March 1931 aged "about 83."

A Welsh prince whose castle, Tal -y-llyn, was at Llanfihangel Talyllyn . He was married to Elinor, a daughter of Tewdrw Mawr, Prince of South Wales. Thus, he was allied with Rhys ap Tewdrw, his wife's brother , who had been in Britainy, but had returned to Wales to battlle for control of South Wales after Bleddyn ap Cynfyn was murdered in about 1073. One of Rhys ap Tewdrw's adversaries fled to William Rufus, King of England, who seized upon this as an excuse to invade Wales in about 1087. The combined armies of Rhys ap Tewdrw and Bleddyn ap Maenarch were defeated by a Norman army under the command of Bernard Newmarch near the town of Brecon in the forest of Cwmgwingad in about 1092 and both Welsh Princes were killed. Newarch built a stronghold at Brecon, married a daughter of Welsh royal blood, and, also, seized Tal-y-llyn.

He says , "it is entirely possible that George Michael Eller, Leonard's father , went to North Carolina with the other Ellers and later returned to Frederick Co., Md ... Leonard Eller first appears in the North Carolina record 19 June 1784 when he entered 640 acres of land in Rowan Co., North Carolina. " Leonard appears in the 1790 census for Rowan Co., N.C . and in the 1800 census for Randolph (Formerly Rowan) Co., N.C.About 1801 he removed to Miami Co., Ohio where he remained until 1834 or early1835 when he removed to Hamilton Co., Indiana, where he died intestate in 1838 or 1840.)
